Biel ‘tried out for Mila Kunis role’
Jessica Biel tried out for Mila Kunis’ role in Friends with Benefits, it has been reported.
The actress auditioned for the female lead role, but was passed over in favour of Kunis.
David Newman, one of the film’s screenwriters, revealed at the movie’s premiere in New York on Monday that Biel was an early candidate for the role to star alongside then-boyfriend Justin Timberlake.
He told New York Times’ Page Six: “She was actually a huge fan of the project and screen-tested for it years ago.”
Newman said he did not know why Biel was not successful in casting for the role, but said he was glad Kunis was chosen by director Will Gluck as she “was fated for the role”.
Biel and Timberlake’s four-year relationship came to an end in March.
