Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced Planet 51, starring the voice talent of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Jessica Biel, Justin Long, Gary Oldman, Seann William Scott and John Cleese, is coming to Blu-ray Disc and DVD on March 9.

The kids adventure about an astronaut who lands on a planet of little green people that mistake him as part of a human “alien” invasion will come to Blu-ray in its original 2.35:1 aspect ratio in 1080p resolution and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio.

A DVD version and digital copy will be packaged into the two-disc Blu-ray set, along with a Blu-ray exclusive “Target 51″ game with optional iPhone controller App download. The remaining bonus features are shared between Blu-ray and DVD.

Hollywood starlet Jessica Biel has advice for men struggling to find a date.

“No cheesy lines,” the actress told AAP in a video interview in Los Angeles.

Biel, a regular on Maxim and FHM’s annual sexiest women lists, has been in a two-year relationship with Grammy Award winner Justin Timberlake and past beaux include Fantastic Four’s Chris Evans.

Through the years the 27-year-old has heard plenty of pathetic pick-up lines.

“A cheesy line is ‘Do you have a mirror in your pocket because I can see myself in your pants?’,” Biel laughs.

Biel’s new movie is the animated family comedy Planet 51 featuring an all-star cast of voice talent headed by John Cleese, Gary Oldman, Justin Long, Dwayne Johnson and Sean William Scott.

In Planet 51 Biel voices the alien character Neera, who is patiently waiting for her next door neighbour Lem (Long) to ask her out.

Lem is too shy.

“Just be yourself. Be confident. Go for it,” Biel suggests for nervous males suffering like Lem.

“That’s sexy when someone walks up and says ‘You are interesting. I would like to take you out some place exciting’.”

Planet 51 is a twist on the usual sci-fi movie, with humans portrayed as the alien invaders. American astronaut Chuck Baker (Johnson) lands on Planet 51 and discovers it inhabited by little green creatures, including Neera and Lem.

The creatures believe Baker is the alien invader.

“Planet 51 is about this idyllic little planet that is kind of a homage to the retro innocence of the 1950s,” Biel explains.

“They are terrified of aliens attacking. For them, aliens look like human beings.

“A human astronaut actually lands on their planet by mistake and scares the entire town terribly.

“The funny thing is he is way more scared of them than what they are of him.”

Biel, whose breakthrough role was in the TV series 7th Heaven, has an eclectic slate of films opening in theatres the next year. She stars alongside Colin Firth and Kristin Scott Thomas in the potential Oscar nominee, Easy Virtue; is the lead in the romantic comedy Nailed about a waitress who has a nail accidently lodged in her head; and she is currently filming the potential blockbuster, The A-Team.

Preparing for the A-Team, a re-make of the 1980s action TV series of the same name, Biel has picked up plenty of skills to fend off men in bars armed with cheesy lines.

Her A-Team weapons training includes shooting M4 machine guns and 9mm Berettas.

“You never know when a machine gun may be lying around and you need to take justice in your own hands,” Biel joked.

Planet 51 opened at an impressive number 4 in the box office this weekend, making a little over 12 million dollars! I think that is an amazing job based on the late promotion for the film, and other big titles opening this weekend as well ! Great job! I saw it and thought it was very cute !

More than a little spaced out, even offscreen, about her new intergalactic animated movie, Planet 51, Jessica Biel was not exactly prepared to talk the secret of sex appeal, at least when it comes to her latest cartoonish character. Though enthusiasm about discussing her own rebel tendencies was an entirely different matter, even if squeamish revelations about being stressed out by her personal predicaments in a horror movie was also a hot topic during this interview. But as far as getting nosy with Jessica relating to the ordeal of hair and makeup for a movie, or fear of the unknown, don’t even go there.

Q: Neera is one hot alien. How did you go about giving her your sultry sexy appeal?

JESSICA BIEL: Umm…Do I have sultry sex appeal? Thank you! That’s lovely. You know, I think we were just trying to create a 16-year-old girl who thinks she has this confidence. And, you know, this sexy “I’m a woman” attitude. And at the same time, she’s really still trying to figure it out with boys. And trying to see how far she wants to push the envelope with authorities, and what people tell her to do. So I think I was trying to just create that¦ And maybe that person I felt like I was when I was 16. Which is just insecure, but pushing the envelope. And still feeling like she was a little kid. And thinking that she was this, you know, strong independent sexy woman, but still not there yet a hundred percent. So, that was what I was trying to do!

IESB attended the press day for the new film PLANET 51. We’ll have all the goodies from the film to you shortly, but wanted to share what PLANET 51 co-stars Jessica Biel and Dwayne Johnson had to say regarding their upcoming projects.

Here is what Jessica had to say about THE A-TEAM, and updates from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on a possible WITCH MOUNTAIN sequel, TOOTH FAIRY and JONNY QUEST!

Q: Jessica, what can you say about The A-Team and playing Lt. Sosa?

Jessica Biel: It’s going really, really well. It’s been a complete blast. It’s really fun. I’m getting to work a lot with weapons again, which I haven’t done in a long time. That sounds kinda weird, but it’s the best to learn about that kind of thing. The cast is wonderful. Joe Carnahan, our director, is hitting the nail right on the head. We’ve got a really interesting tone going on.

I think I was a little concerned, at first, about whether we were going to be really super-cheesy or dark, or what we’d be doing. And, I think we’ve found lots of humor, at the same time that it’s quite emotional with dramatic moments. I think it’s going to be a lot of different things combined into this one movie. But, there are a lot of throw-backs and a lot of paying homage to the original show.

We’re in the middle of it, so it’s hard to know. I think it’s going really well. Everyone says it’s looking really beautiful and the scenes are cutting together really well. That’s pretty much all I can say.
