EXCLUSIVE: Sony Pictures may be close to landing one of two female leads for its “Total Recall” reboot.
Jessica Biel is circling a role opposite Colin Farrell in the pic. Sony has offered her the role but no discussions are underway. It’s unclear which role she would play.
In the original 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger starrer, the femme leads were played by Sharon Stone, who played Lori, and Rachel Ticotin, who played Melina.
The film follows Douglas Quaid, a man who believes he is a secret agent and ends up on a Martian colony where he fights to overthrow a ruler controlling the production of air.
There was early buzz that Biel was going for the role of Melina but sources say there’s a chance she going for the other character.
Several thesps had gone out for the roles including Eva Mendes, Kate Bosworth and Paula Patton and sources say the decision for the other lead is still being considered.
Len Wiseman will direct the latest version, with Farrell stepping into the Schwarzenegger role and Bryan Cranston attached to play the villain.
Neal H. Moritz and Toby Jaffe will produce with Mark Bomback and James Vanderbilt penning the script.
Based on a Philip K. Dick short story, the original pic was directed by Paul Verhoeven. It grossed more than $250 million at the worldwide box office.
Biel was most recently seen in “The A-Team” for Fox.
She is repped by CAA and Management 360.

Jesse and Gerard bought the “Playing the Field” cast and crew a nice treat on Friday!
Jessica Biel and costar Gerard Butler ordered 13 dozen cupcakes from Cush’s Grocery and Market for the cast and crew of Playing the Field, which they’re shooting in Shreveport, La. “It’s a wide variety of cupcakes [that] she and Gerard ordered for a Friday treat,” a source tells PEOPLE. Biel has dropped into the store several times for lunch, and usually orders the chicken salad special, the source says, calling the actress “one of the nicest, most down-to-earth people.”

“Jessica Biel has been caught with a hot new guy!” claims In Touch Weekly an in absolutely absurd article in the April 11 issue.
Jessica Biel isn’t sitting at home crying over her breakup with Justin Timberlake. In Touch has learned that the gorgeous star and some friends hung out with photographer Jimmy Chin at the Hotel Terra resort in Jackson Hole, Wyoming on March 27.
“They met last year when they climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa and have been close ever since,” says an insider.
The tabloid is right about a couple of things: Chin is a photographer, he did trek Kilimanjaro and he did see the actress in Jackson Hole – but is there a romance brewing?
“It’s totally not true. It’s a very platonic thing,” a surprised Jimmy Chin tells RumorFix exclusively. “I think I’ve seen her once, I have never called her and she has never called me. We’re literally just friends because both of us are very connected by a very mutual friend.”

After reports yesterday surfaced that Jessica Biel was getting her revenge flirt on with Gerard Butler, we did some digging around as to what is going down on the set of Playing the Field.
Jess and Gerry are filming together in Louisiana and have been seen out flirting on four occasions, according to Us Weekly.
So is it lust, love or both?
According to set sources, nothing has happened between the two (yet).
“They have never had dinner alone,” dishes an insider in Louisiana. “They are always in a crew of people on the film.”
Still, that doesn’t mean these two hotties couldn’t sneak away, right?
“There is no romance or relationship,” insists the source.
A rep for Biel did not return our calls for comment.
Got it.
Just saying, if Jess didn’t feel like resisting Gerard’s charm for too long we wouldn’t judge. Who says they need to have a relationship? Or romance for that matter. Celebs have needs too!
As we said yesterday, friends of Gerry’s said he was not looking to settle down anytime soon.
So who would you all like to see Ms. Biel with next?
It’s only fair that Biel finds herself an equally hot counterpart to cavort around with for a while. We suggested Bradley Cooper. Can you all do better?
