Jessica Biel pop career?
November 4, 2008    Speak    Posted by Stephen

Jessica Biel is set to launch a pop career – just like her boyfriend, Justin Timberlake.

Celebrity couples copying each other’s careers can be a cause for justified groans (think Madonna taking up film directing, and Kate Moss joining Pete Doherty on stage), but, word has it, the gorgeous Miss Biel actually has a very good voice.

The actress, who is currently promoting her new movie, Easy Virtue, reportedly has an impressive army of music men behind her chart onslaught; Marius de Vries - who has worked with the likes of David Bowie and Massive Attack – is said to be masterminding her pop move.

The UK-based music maestro also penned the songs on hit movies Romeo & Juliet and Moulin Rouge – picking up two Baftas in the process.

Biel has already flexed her singing muscles in Easy Virtue, and reportedly developed a taste for performing. A source told The Sun: ‘Jessica has had a taste of singing on her latest film.

‘She worked with Marius when the soundtrack for the film was being put together and they hit it off.

‘Jessica is a big music fan and says she would love to give a chart career serious consideration. Since then the wheels have been in motion — and she’s certainly got a good voice.’

The Biel-Good Factor
November 3, 2008    Speak    Posted by Stephen

Jessica Biel is a revelation in this movie - a true scene stealer with a real comic touch.

She’s put past rubbish such as Stealth behind her and in Easy Virtue shows an entirely new side to her acting talents.

This film adaptation of Noel Coward’s play of the same name has her starring as glamorous American trophy wife Larita - who becomes embroiled in a clash of cultures after marrying Englishman John Whittaker (Ben Barnes).

And without doubt, Aussie director Stephan Elliott (The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert) has given us a hugely enjoyable romantic comedy, which is set in the 1920s.

Larita and John meet, marry on a whim then go to live at the Whittaker family home in the English countryside.

But as soon as they arrive, his mother (Kristin Scott Thomas) has an allergic reaction to the new daughter-in-law - who tries her best to fit in, but fails to please the icy, emotionless woman. The sparks fly and the script is sprinkled with great lines during the amusing spats between the leading ladies.

But the ultimate pleasure of this movie is the performances. Ms Biel, who looks gorgeous in every period outfit, is adorable in her role as the outsider.

And Ms Scott Thomas is superb as her adversary, while Colin Firth reveals his brilliance for dry wit as the quiet, war weary head of the household.

Meanwhile Kris Marshall, the man from the BT adverts, puts in a priceless turn as Furber the butler.

They all demonstrate excellent comic timingwhich helps make this one of the most engaging movies of its type for a long time.

It opens next Friday and is the perfect entertainment for the whole family.
Even take the mother-in-law.
Easy Virtue: WORTH WATCHING? Definitely
RATING: * * * * *
CERTIFICATE: PG
Running Time: 96 mins

Jessica Biel bares all for sex scene in ‘Easy Virtue’
November 3, 2008    Speak    Posted by Stephen

Hollywood actress will soon be seen playing a racy American in the upcoming flick ‘Easy Virtue’, which includes a scene wherein she beds her co-actor Ben Barnes.

The flick is based on a belligerent American woman who weds a young British aristocrat, and shakes his straight-laced family to the foundations of their stately home.

The director Stephan Elliot, who shot with Jessica in England, revealed that the ‘7th Heaven’ actress was visited by beau Justin Timberlake on the set.

“They didn’t tell us he was on set that day and I wondered why all the photographers were there,” British tabloid The Sun quoted Elliot as saying.

“I had a quick chat to him but he was keeping a low profile. He was very much playing the good supporting husband at that point, which is good because she’s going to shake the world with this movie,” he added. (ANI)

Jessica Biel Likes Crumpets
November 1, 2008    Speak    Posted by Stephen

Jessica Biel is addicted to crumpets.

The actress - who is currently dating singer Justin Timberalke - became obsessed with the traditional English treats while filming new movie Easy Virtue in London.

She says, “It was my first time in England so it was all very new to me.

“I tried the whole tea and crumpets thing and I have to say I love crumpets. Crumpets are good.

“I wasn’t into the whole fox hunting thing but I liked the horse riding we got to do, and the crumpets. I’d like to take some of those for home.”

Jessica on the Graham Norton Show
October 30, 2008    Speak    Posted by Stephen
Actress Jessica Biel started in show business young, starring in musicals in her hometown in Colorado. By the age of 12 she had an agent and was appearing in various commercials, and by 14 she had a role in hit US TV drama 7th Heaven, in which she played the eldest daughter of a preacher.

Her movie debut was in 1997 in the critically acclaimed Ulee’s Gold, which won her a Young Artist Award. However, this illustrious start was stalled by her ongoing contract with 7th Heaven, which she blamed for typecasting her in squeaky-clean roles. To remedy this, she posed semi-clothed for lads’ mag Gear.

Once free from the shackles of wholesome typecasting, Biel was free to star in grittier roles, with major parts in The Rules of Attraction, and the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Her real breakthrough came in 2006 when she played a duchess in The Illusionist, which won her several newcomer awards. Subsequent roles in I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, Next and Home of the Brave, not to mention her boyfriend (and reputedly fiancé) Justin Timberlake, have placed her firmly in the Hollywood A-list.

Hopefully a video or some photos come soon!
